• What is the Mad PSI carbon fiber front lip?  The Mad PSI carbon fiber front lip is a lightweight aero piece that attaches to the bottom of your OEM front bumper to enhance the looks and aerodynamics of your MR2. • What are the advantages of purchasing the carbon fiber front lip? 1) A carbon fiber front lip is lighter in weight and smaller in dimensions than a front bumper. Thus, shipping could be cheaper for a front lip than a front bumper. 2) Aftermarket authentic front bumpers are very expensive and some of them will need to be imported from Japan. After fees, customs, taxes, and shipping, it is very common to end up paying as much as $1,000 for a front bumper. In addition, there is usually a 6 week wait for shipping alone via ocean freight from Japan. 3) Most aftermarket replica front bumpers do not have good fitment. In addition, they tend to be thin and the fiberglass in many cases is wavy. A lot of prep work needs to go into these front bumpers for them to look good. More prep work means more hours of labor a body shop is going to charge you for the install. In addition, even after all the prep work, there is no guarantee the finished product will actually look good. This is why some body shops will not even accept replica front bumpers. Nobody likes poor fitting parts on there cars. With a front lip, you keep the superior OEM fitment and quality of the stock front bumper, but you also add a more aggressive and unique look. 4) Since the front lip is carbon fiber, you do not have to pay a body shop to paint it. In addition, some MR2s paint is as much as twelve years old. Brand new paint on a front bumper may not match with the older stock paint on the fender and hood. Some body shops may even paint the hood and the fenders at the same time so that the color will match further increasing the price of install. With a carbon fiber front lip all you have to do is install it unpainted and you are good to go. 5) Anyone who has owned a fiberglass front bumper can tell you that it may look good at first, but after a while the fiberglass will start to chip or crack from rock chips. 6) Exclusivity. Almost every aftermarket front bumper for the MR2 has been "played out." Ever been to a MR2 meet lately and found that almost every car looked the same? While there is nothing wrong with having the same modifications as everyone else, it is always nice to have a product that has not been whored out and will give your car that last bit of uniqueness. 7) Subtlety. At higher speeds the MR2 tends to feel "floaty." Realizing this, in 1993 Toyota included a lower lip stock to help get rid of this floaty feel. The solution actually provided a noticeable difference. The same is true of our carbon fiber lip. 1991 and 1992 MR2s will especially benefit from better stability at higher speeds since they do not come lower lips stock. 10) A carbon fiber front lip can add to the carbon fiber theme on your car. For example, if you have a carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber windshield wiper cowl, carbon fiber mirrors, etc... the carbon fiber front lip would be a nice finishing touch. Carbon fiber. • Will the front lip fit on JDM MR2s? Yes. The carbon fiber front lip will fit any second generation MR2 with the stock front bumper. • Does additional hardware come with the front lip? No.   • Will there be pre-drilled holes? No.  Since the condition of your car may throw off the alignment of your front bumper and the front lip, it is best to have a qualified body shop install the front lip.  There are recommended markings to drill on the front lip that should accommodate your MR2. • How is gen 2 different from gen 1?
